artist- Carlton Stout
I work in traditional media, digital media, and graphic design. I have a long history of experience in web design and various digital media.
My passion is visual 2D art, digital or traditional. I prefer the look of traditional media and work with digital tools. I pioneered techniques and methods that blends traditional media with digital production to produce 2D fine art. I've enjoyed having works sold internationally and hung in local galleries. I now focus on the pleasures of producing art as opposed to doldrums of marketing and producing art products so that means I don't care if my art is a commodity or suitable for galleries. I make art because I must.
Professional Experience & Degrees
I currently produce Interior Design draftings and drawings for construction companies. I also currently perform freelance Fine Art photographing for archival and small printing purposes.
Previously I owned and operated Digital Blue Design, a web design, graphic arts, and video production firm. I co-started Paradise Photo & Design as a design partner.
I have an Associates of Arts degree and a Certificate Degree of Digital Arts with Dean Honors.
I've worked as an Adobe Photoshop Master conducting Color & Imaging service for Ma'alea Press and Hilo Fine Art Center between 2007-2014 producing color corrected fine art giclees and image refinements.
My skill sets range from traditional media arts, digital painting, drafting, Photoshop Mastery, photography, virtual imaging, photographic restoration & manipulation, fine art scanning & photography, image creations, logo design, print production, videography and editing, animation, programming, and web design.
Artist Statement
I began to advance my art and digital computer skills in 2006 and continue to hone and explore my style and passion within the digital fine art arena. I enjoy the clean and versatile tools of digital media but I honor the traditional media for its aesthetics and spirit, therefore I try to create works that honor both.
